I tell myself I wasn't born
within a rusting dream,
but then i'm taken to a warehouse
to count paintings of the moon
and wake as the image of two boats passing each other.

You come to me on the train
as stacked and unsmoked cigarettes
lit end on end,
and i called you 'the most elegant solution.'
At best i knew you felt:
an impossible word
in the censored press.
